   • Passport should be valid for atleast 6 months from the date of return and should have at least 2 blank pages.
   • Enclose any old passports with the application.
   • Handwritten passports, passports with observations mentioned and passports valid for more than 10 years are not accepted.

2. Photographs

   • Photograph requirements: Dimensions of 35mm x 45mm, clicked within the past three months, featuring 80% of the face, captured against a plain white background with a matte finish.

1. Covering Letter

   • Stating applicant's purpose of visit and personal details addressed to Embassy of China, Delhi Or Consulate General of China, Mumbai Or Consulate General of China, Kolkata.

2. Specific Mandates

   • All documents must be in English else official translation is required for documents in other languages.The Embassy or Consulate may request additional documents or a personal interview on a case-by-case basis.
   • Biometrics are mandatory.

Occupational Details

1. Self-employed

   • Cover Letter on official business letterhead.
   • Business Registration Certificate, such as GST certificate, Certificate of Incorporation, Partnership Deed, MOA, etc.
   • Valid proof of proprietorship.

2. Bank Statement

   • Bank statement for last 6 months with bank's sign & seal showing sufficient balance (1,60,000 per applicant) and cash flow, if someone else is sponsoring the trip; additionally the occupation proof documents of the sponsor will also be required.

3. Employed

   • Provide the following company letters on official letterhead, including the applicant's name, designation, and signature of the authorized signatory:
   • Leave Sanction letter (OR) No Objection Certificate.
   • Payslips of last 3 months.
   • Company Appointment Letter (if the applicant has recently switched the company).

4. Student

   • Bonafide certificate from educational institution
   • Student identity card copy.

5. Retired

   • Retirement Proof (OR)
   • Pension slip for the last 3 months.

Conditional Requirements

1. Stay proof

   • Rental agreement (or) Original company letter is applicable, if passport is issued in a different jurisdiction from the jurisdiction of visa application.
   • Mumbai jurisdiction: Maharashtra, Karnataka.
   • Kolkata jurisdiction: Orissa, West Bengal, Chhattisgarh, Jharkhand, Bihar.
   • Delhi jurisdiction: All other states.

2. Biometrics

   • Applicant has to be present for biometrics if the application is being submitted in the Bombay (or) Kolkata jurisdiction.
   • Biometrics not required for applicants below 14 years and for applicants above 70 years.

3. Marriage certificate

   • Applicable, if the applicant is married and spouse's name is not mentioned on the passport

4. Staying with friends and family

   • An invitation letter from the inviting person based in China on their letterhead mentioning applicant's name, Passport Number, Date of Travel, Place of travel and Purpose of travel with clear Chinese seal and signed by authorized signatory. Letter should be addressed to Embassy of China, New Delhi Or Consulate General of China, Mumbai Or Consulate General of China, Kolkata.
   • Inviting person's permanent address proof.
   • Inviting person's contact number.
   • Inviting person's ID.

Travel Details

1. Return air tickets

   • Copy of confirmed arrival and departure tickets.

2. Hotel reservation

   • Displaying the hotel's address, contact number, the applicant's name, and the reservation dates.

3. Itinerary

   • A day-to-day itinerary is to be submitted.

1. Sponsor documents

   • Additionally the occupation proof documents of the sponsor will be required, if the applicant is being sponsored.
